There are three ways to reach the Amer Palace, each offering a unique experience. You can take a leisurely walk to the entrance, which is just a 10-minute stroll from the road. For a more adventurous approach, consider an elephant ride.
Alternatively, you can reach the palace by any vehicle, saving you time and energy. Those entering the palace on foot or by elephant will pass through the Suraj Pol or Sun Gate, leading to Jaleb Chowk. The third courtyard houses the rulers’ apartments, which you enter from the Ganesh Pol. This level also houses the Jai Mandir, or the Hall of Victory, and the Sukh Niwas, or the Hall of Bliss, which face each other, offering a glimpse into the palace’s rich history and culture.
The best time to visit Amer Palace is from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. You can go anytime during this time. The entry fee for Indian nationals is ₹100, while foreign tourists have to pay ₹500. In the evening, the timings are from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the entry fee for all being ₹100.
